These terms govern your use of Obsidian Buddy. We've kept them simple and fair—just like our app.

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Obsidian Buddy ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the App.

2. License Grant

What You Get

When you purchase Obsidian Buddy, you receive:

• A perpetual license to use the App on your personal Mac devices
• All updates and bug fixes for the version you purchased
• The right to use the App for personal and commercial purposes

License Restrictions

Your license does NOT allow you to:

• Share your license key with others
• Resell or redistribute the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App
• Use the App for any illegal purposes
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices

3. Trial Period

Obsidian Buddy offers a 7-day free trial with full functionality. After the trial:

• The app will continue to work with limited functionality
• You can purchase a license to unlock full features
• No automatic charges—you decide if and when to buy

4. Payment and Refunds

Payment

Payments are processed through Gumroad. By purchasing, you agree to Gumroad's terms of service. We don't store or have access to your payment information.

Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with Obsidian Buddy within 30 days of purchase, contact us for a full refund. We'll process it through Gumroad, no questions asked.

5. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is fundamental. Obsidian Buddy:

• Works entirely offline with your local files
• Doesn't collect or transmit your notes or personal data
• Only connects to the internet for license validation and updates

6. Intellectual Property

Our Property

Obsidian Buddy, including all code, design, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Tim Sedov. All rights not explicitly granted are reserved.

Your Content

You retain all rights to the notes and content you create with Obsidian Buddy. We make no claim to your content and never access it.

7. Third-Party Services

Obsidian Buddy integrates with:

• Obsidian: We're not affiliated with Obsidian. Their terms apply to your use of Obsidian.
• Gumroad: For payment processing and license management
• Sparkle: For automatic updates

8. Warranties and Disclaimers

We specifically disclaim warranties of:

• Merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Obsidian Buddy shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tim Sedov from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of Obsidian Buddy or violation of these Terms.

11. Updates and Changes

App Updates

We may release updates to improve functionality, fix bugs, or add features. Updates are optional but recommended for the best experience.

Terms Updates

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the App or via email if we have your contact information. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated. You may terminate by stopping use of the App and deleting it from your devices.

We may terminate your license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete all copies.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia and the European Union. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Estonia.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tim Sedov regarding Obsidian Buddy.
